Doubtful Is Big Trap Stay Away from It

The Messenger of Allah said :

“Halal is clear, and Haram is clear, and between the two are doubtful matters about which many people do not know. He who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his Deen and his honor. The one who falls into doubtful matters [eventually] falls into Haram. Haram.” (Sahih Muslim,1599)

We should choose products which are PURE HALAL, HEALTHY and WHOLESOME without any doubt.

What is Halal to Eat?

Halal is that which is permissible and lawful in Islam.

Haram is what is impermissible, unlawful or prohibited in Islam.

The basic dietary laws for Muslims are:
  1. ONLY that which is tayyib (طيب) (pure) is Halal (Surah al-A’raaf [سورة الأعراف]:157)
  2. That which is khabeeth (خبيث) (impure) is Haram (surah al-A’raaf
  3. That which is tayyib (طيب) is Halal, and that which is Halal is tayyib (طيب) (Surah al-Baqarah [سورة البقرة]:168)

What is Zabiha?

Zabiha are the rules of slaughtering an animal to make it Halal for consumption.

The Conditions of Zabiha:

  1. FOUR main veins of the throat MUST be cut.
    • Four main Jugular veins of the throat must be cut with a sharp object in one shot (main blood carrying veins) and windpipe Will be cut which disconnect the brain. Hence, no pain inflicted to the animal, and it will bleed.
    • Zabiha means flow of blood, alot of blood
  2. Mentioning the name of Allah at the time of each slaughter. (BISMIL LAHI ALLAHU AKBAR)[
    • “Eat not (of meats) on which Allah's name has not been pronounced, and surely it is a sin...” (Surah al-An’aam [
    • Any animal upon which Bismillah is not mentioned intentionally at the time of slaughter, is considered MAITAH [مايتا] (carrion, or dead meat). MAITAH IS HARAM.
  3. The person who is performing ZABH/HALAL must be a MUSLIM
    • If one does not know who slaughtered the animal, further researched MUST be done before eating

Note: If ANY ONE of the above conditions is not fulfilled, the meat will be HARAM for consumption.

Halal and Zabiha

Those animals declared as “Halal”, if they have been slaughtered according to “Zabiha” rules, only then is consuming their meat is “Halal”.

If they have not been slaughtered as per the rules of Zabiha, that meat cannot be called “Halal”. It would be considered as “maitah (Carrion)” which is haram.

There is no difference of Zabiha & Halal in the Quran, Sunnah or any other Fiqh text.

There is NO DIFFERENCE between HALAL and ZABIHA HALAL. Zabiha is required to consider meat Halal.

What Quran says about Halal?

“O people, eat the Halal, tayyib out of what lies in the earth, and do not follow the footsteps of Shaytan; indeed, he is an open enemy for you.”(Surah Al-baqarah: 168)

Forbidden to you are carrion, blood, and swine; what is slaughtered in the name of any other than Allah; what is killed by strangling, beating, a fall, or by being gored to death; what is partly eaten by a predator unless you slaughter it; and what is sacrificed on altars.

You are also forbidden to draw lots for decisions.1 This is all evil. Today the disbelievers have given up all hope of ˹undermining˺ your faith. So do not fear them; fear Me! Today I have perfected your faith for you, completed My favor upon you, and chosen Islam as your way.

But whoever is compelled by extreme hunger—not intending to sin—then surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (surah al-An’aam: 3)

Say, ˹O Prophet, ˺ “I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to eat except carrion, running blood, swine—which is impure—or a sinful offering in the name of any other than Allah. But if someone is compelled by necessity—neither driven by desire nor exceeding immediate need—then surely your Lord is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surah al-An’aam: 145)

“Eat not (of meats) on which Allāh’s name has not been pronounced, and surely it is a sin…”(Surah al-An’aam: 121)

So pray and sacrifice to your Lord ˹alone˺. Only the one who hates you is truly cut off ˹from any goodness˺. (Surah al-Kawthar:2-3)

“What should cause you to avoid eating of that upon which the name of Allāh has been invoked while He has spelled out to you all that He has made unlawful for you, except that to which you are compelled by extreme necessity? Surely, there are many who misguide people on the basis of their desires without having knowledge. Surely, your Lord is the best knower of those who cross the limits. limits.” (Surah al An’aam: 119)

“They are the ones whose hearts Allah did not intend to purify. For them there is humiliation in this world, and for them there is a great punishment in the Hereafter. They are listeners to the fallacy, devourers of the unlawful. (Surah al Maa’idah: 41- 42)
