IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO THE MUSLIM CONSUMERS
Due to changes in the modern meat industry, the processing of meat has changed. Processing (killing) is done by machines, stunning, shot on the head or gas stunning using carbon dioxide in a gas chamber (for chicken) where dead chickens also get processed. There is no more processing by hand or by Saying Name of our Creator “Allah” by any one in modern meat process even “Alhelekitaab”. It is just (non-halal) forbidden to eat
ALLAH SAYS IN SURAH MAIDAH VERSE 3
ARABIC VERSE
حُرِّمَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةُ وَٱلدَّمُ وَلَحۡمُ ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ وَٱلۡمُنۡخَنِقَةُ وَٱلۡمَوۡقُوذَةُ وَٱلۡمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَآ أَكَلَ ٱلسَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيۡتُمۡ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى ٱلنُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسۡتَقۡسِمُواْ بِٱلۡأَزۡلَٰمِۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ فِسۡقٌۗ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ يَئِسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن دِينِكُمۡ فَلَا تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ وَٱخۡشَوۡنِۚ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمَ دِينٗاۚ فَمَنِ ٱضۡطُرَّ فِي مَخۡمَصَةٍ غَيۡرَ مُتَجَانِفٖ لِّإِثۡمٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ
TRANSALATION
Forbidden to you are carrion (dead meat), blood, and swine (pork); what is slaughtered in the name of any other than Allah; what is killed by strangling (suffocation), beating (stunning, shot or shock), a fall, or by being gored to death; what is partly eaten by a predator unless you slaughter it; and what is sacrificed on altars. You are also forbidden to draw lots for decisions. This is all evil. Today the disbelievers have given up all hope of ˹undermining˺ your faith. So do not fear them; fear Me! Today I have perfected your faith for you, completed My favor upon you, and chosen Islam as your way. But whoever is compelled by extreme hunger—not intending to sin—then surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
The Market Meat
The Market meat which is available is processed without taking name of Allah, It is done by stunning, by shot, by shock or by suffocation. In the light of the above Ayah we cannot eat it; it’s not permissible to eat. It’s really amazing that Allah told us about animal killed by suffocation is Haram (Al-mukhanikhatu) 1400 year ago and now we see that chicken is suffocated using carbon dioxide gas called CO2 stunning.
In the case of chicken, many farms are selling as Machine cut Halal or electric stunned Halal or gas stunned halal, in machine and stunned process there are many dead birds that get processed and become a part of your food. In the light of the above ayah we cannot consume these also.
